Beyond the Garden Gate

Kandy and the surrounding hills

Cityscape with a lake in the foreground, buildings and greenery spread across the scene, and mountains in the distance.
White temple complex by a pond, under cloudy sky. Decorated with lights and flags.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth is fifteen minutes away. The Botanical Gardens, five. Kandy Lake circles the city centre. The hill country opens up from here — tea plantations, ancient temples, the train journey everyone talks about.

But you'll keep coming back to the garden café. That's what happens.
