Food that feels like home
Sri Lankan breakfast and beyond.
We don’t have a restaurant in the formal sense. No leather menus, no waiters in ties. What we have is better: food made the way we’d make it for family.

Included in every stay
The Sri Lankan Breakfast
Every guest mentions it. The Sri Lankan breakfast that comes with your stay isn’t an afterthought — it’s the way we start every day ourselves.
Fresh coconut sambol, still warm. Dhal curry with the right amount of spice. String hoppers if you want them, or rice. Fresh fruit from the market. Ceylon tea or coffee, as much as you want. Egg hoppers on request.
Served at the garden café when you’re ready. No fixed time. Morning people get their coffee at six. Late risers show up at ten. We’re flexible that way.

By request
Other meals
We don’t offer lunch or dinner as standard, but we’re not rigid about it.
Rice and curry — Traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry, home-cooked, the way we eat. Give us a day’s notice and we’ll prepare it.
Cooking classes — Want to learn to make proper dhal curry? Coconut sambol? String hoppers? We can teach you.

Open all day
The Garden Café
This is where meals happen, but it’s more than a dining space. Coffee in the morning. Tea in the afternoon. Sunset with a book. The view stretches across the gardens to the mountains beyond.
Tables and chairs we made. Light that changes throughout the day. Birds in the trees. The kind of place where you sit down for coffee and end up staying for hours.
Always available: Ceylon tea from the highlands. Proper Sri Lankan coffee. Both free, all day — at the café or in your room.
The coffee tastes better here. Every guest says the same thing. We can’t explain it.

One thing to know
Let us know when you book. Sri Lankan cuisine is naturally adaptable — coconut, rice, dhal and vegetables do most of the work already.
Want to eat out?
Kandy has some genuinely good tables, fifteen minutes away. We keep an honest list.
